Benjarong Online Benjarong is the name of the modified and hand painted bone china and porcelain from Thailand which bears the imprint of an art belonging uniquely to Thailand artists. This art was only meant for royal court and families but off late it has become available for public purchase as well. The hand painted Benjarong and fine bone china from Thailand is famous through out the world. China, Japan and many South East Asian countries import the benjarong for their markets from Thailand.
he Benjarong has a romantic history and today it is available in 31 patterns. Some of these patterns of art and painting date back to as far as the Ming Dynasty and this make the Benjarong an exotic art. Today they are done by artists for dinnerware, coffee services, tea pots, candlesticks, cups jars, mugs, vases, boxes, lamp bases ad salad bowls. Making of Benjarong requires high skill of painting and imagination.
The word benjarong is a coined word from two languages � �benja� from Balinese and �rong� from Sanskrit, which together means five colors. Traditionally the five colors used to make benjarong items were red, yellow, green, blue and white. In recent times two more colors have been augmented which are high quality gold and maroon. The designs of benjaron over the centuries have improved a lot. Today artists use their innovative techniques to design and color the porcelain and bone china ware. Still the basic elements of benjarong are appreciated which includes the lotus, the rose, the emblems of Supan and Chakri dynasties.
