태국 - 택시 서비스 개선에 따른 요금 인상 예정 [bangkokpost, 10.8]

- 정부는 택시 서비스 품질 개선에 따른 운영비용이 상승함에 따라 택시 운전기사를 돕기 위한 계획으로 12월부터 택시요금을 인상하기로 함

- 요금인상 조건의 하나로 택시 운전기사는 안전 및 위생 기준을 충족해야 함.

요금인상은 운영비용, 택시기사 소득, 소비자 부담, 택시가 제공하는 서비스 표준 4가지 기본요소를 반영하며, 요금인상은 2~2.5% 이하가 될 예정임.

BANGKOK, - Transport Minister Air Chief Marshal Prajin Juntong revealed that the ministry is set to adjust the taxi fare system by the end of this week.

ACM Prajin has also invited taxi operators to a meeting in order to create understanding and reach mutual agreement about the new fare rates, which is expected to be applied by December of this year.

He said that should the taxi operators accept the condition to improve the quality of service, it would take the ministry approximately 45 days to inspect every taxi vehicle in service. ACM Prajin stated that the fares would be priced more relatively according to the distance and to help taxi operators earn an income of more than 300 baht per day.

Taxi drivers will be also required to improve their driving etiquette in order to meet the safety standards and ensure that their vehicles are clean enough for servicing passengers as well. If they pass the inspection test, then a sticker will be issued and placed on their vehicles.

Meanwhile, Deputy Transport Minister Mr. Akom Termpittayapaisit declared that a new meter system would also be put in place based on four factors. Those factors include the cost of capital for taxi operators, taxi drivers’ income levels, consumer expenses, and quality of service
