올해 세계 최대 관광객 예상도시 런던1위, 방콕2위, 서울은 9위

[조니타이 © JONYTHAI ]-  마스터카드 (MasterCard)가 전세계 132개 도시를 대상으로 조사한 2015년’관광객이 가장  많이 찾을  것으로 예상하는  도시 순위에서 런던은 올해 1천882만 명의 관광객이 방문할 것으로  작년에 이어 1위를 차지했다.

MasterCard has just released its annual travel study, the Global Destination Cities Index, ranking 132 destination cities around the world in terms of total international overnight visitor arrivals and cross-border spending.

뒤를 이어 2위는 태국  방콕 그리고 대한민국 서울은 9위를 차지했다.  2013년 1위였던 방콕은  아직 해결되지 않은 정치적 불안 요인으로 2위로 밀렸으며  1천824만명이 방문할 것으로 1위 런던과의 격차를 좁혔다.

Bangkok lost its first place ranking in 2013, largely due to political unrest. But the report suggests that the Thai capital is showing signs of recovery and closing the gap with London.

London will welcome 18.82 million overnight visitors in 2015 whereas Bangkok will receive 18.24 million.

최고 관광도시 순위에서 3위는 파리, 이어 두바이, 이스탄불, 뉴욕, 싱가포르, 쿠알라룸푸르, 서울,홍콩 순으로 톱 10에 포함됐다. 또한, 런던은 올해 관광객 숫자뿐만 아니라 관광객들이 지출할 비용도 202억3천만 달러로 예상돼 1위를 차지했다. 

Not only will London have the most travelers, it's estimated to see the most visitor spending, at $20.23 billion in 2015.

예상 관광수입 순위에서 2위는 뉴욕(173억7천만 달러), 3위는 파리(166억1천만 달러)였다. 마스터카드 어드바이저스의 아태지역 담당자 에릭 슈나이더는 "런던과 방콕이 매력적인 관광명소 이외에 관광객들이 길을 찾기에 편하고 먹거리와 문화도 풍성하다"고 말했다.

New York came second in visitor spending at $17.37 billion. Paris followed with $16.61 billion. London and Bangkok have taken the top two spots in the MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index for the last five years.

한편 2009~2015년 기간에 외국 관광객이 가장 많이 늘어난 도시는 스리랑카의 콜롬보로 21.1%의 증가율을 보였다. 이어 중국 청두(成都), 아부다비, 오사카, 사우디 리야드, 시안(西安), 타이베이, 도쿄, 페루 리마, 호찌민 순으로 나타나 관광객 증가에서 아시아, 중동 지역의 약진이 두드러졌다.

Sri Lanka's capital city of Colombo is first in growth with a staggering 21% surge, with Chengdu, the capital of China's Sichuan province, following in second. Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, ranked third in terms of growth; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, placed fifth.

Lima, Peru, is the wold's ninth-fastest growing city, and the fastest growing city in South America. Houston is the fastest growing city in North America since 2009 and is the only city in the United States to register double-digit growth over that period.
